The Man behind MOST

At the age of 22, Günter Hofbauer already decided on freelancing. The son of a working-class family preferred earning money to studies. This decision would pay off over the years.

Since 1981, the 51-year-old entrepreneur has been the founder and sole owner of the current company MOST Mobile Specials GmbH. He made it from a one man show into a leading supplier of special-purpose vehicles for mobile promotions, presentations and events in Europe.

“Quite often my plans were smiled at as dreams,” Hofbauer says when he remembers his beginnings. Today he says: “Make your dreams come true. You will meet a lot of people who will tell you that your vision will remain a dream and others will forecast a tremendous success. But you cannot rely on it. You must find out for yourself. Only then will you be smarter. When you have reached the top, you will laugh. If you fall, you simply get up again.”

Hofbauer is a winner who does not find it difficult to motivate people for something and take them with him on his visionary wanderings. “I often get more than I expected or hoped for.”

Hofbauer knows his employees well and knows that everybody contributes significantly to the company’s success. “I meet my staff on an equal footing; hierarchy is not important to me.”

Working with numbers and being creative at the same time usually does not fit together. But that is exactly what he combines. “If you want to have a strong company, it is important to control the figures because you have to be a predictable partner to bankers and investors. However, it is just as important to have a feeling for putting the company and the products in perspective,” says Hofbauer.

The consistent development of his products has always been at the foreground of the entrepreneur. Innovative ideas as well as attractive vehicle creations are MOST Mobile’s strengths and ensure the pioneering role with promotion vehicles throughout Europe.

Since 2010, his company may therefore call itself a truck manufacturer because of the FUTURIA Avantgarde in Motion. With this slogan, Hofbauer purposefully leaves well-trodden paths “because the world is full of commonplaces,” says Hofbauer.

Despite his unquenchable creative urge and the limited time for private life, he considers partnership and the family to be elementary pillars of his life. “It is a rest area, support and therefore a valuable medium of power and new ideas.”
